Star Wars Replica Motorcycle Suits

Imperial Storm Trooper motorcycle suit

Following on the heels of their Batman motorcycle suit, UD Replicas has introduced a series of Star Wars replica Empire motorcycle jackets and complete storm trooper motorcycle suits. Whether the force is with you or you ride on the dark side, you can find the appropriate gear.

When you drive a car you can hide inside. With custom paint, an exotic design and dark windows, no one sees you, their attention is drawn to and focused on the car, but motorcycles in motion, no matter how dramatic their appearance, focus a lot of attention on the rider. It's inevitable. If you're one of those shy and retiring types, a motorcycle presents you with a problem, you're on display whenever you ride, so why not embrace it?

Universal Design Ltd. is licensed by the movie studio to create these replica leather jackets and they try to make them look as close to the movie original as possible. Even when the movie version has what looks like all sorts of hard parts, UD Replicas forms the leather to look like the original piece.

Besides the Star Wars series and the Batman suit, they also have Tron replicas, X-Men replicas, and an upcoming Captain America suit.

The jackets look like a quality product and probably perform very well doing everything a motorcycle jacket should with CE approved armor and removable liners, but you're going to need the right person to wear one. The Empire Racing Jacket looks OK, but it takes a certain personality type to ride off looking like an Imperial Storm Trooper and even then, there's probably an upper age limit before even that person will set it aside.

I think if I were going to wear a movie replica jacket, I might go for the one worn by Tom Cruise in Top Gun, but even that is a bit flashy for me. Star Wars, Tron, Batman or Captain America, if that's the real you, now you can show the world whenever you ride.

Chad Reed wins Italy's "Superbowl of Supercross" in Genoa

Supercross and Motocross star Chad Reed has won today's Genoa Supercross, by taking second in the first Main Event, and winning the second Main Event. This race was Chad's first race in ten weeks, and also marked the first event for newly appointed Technical Director Mike Gosselaar under the TwoTwo Motorsports banner.

Chad Reed 22, Justin Barcia 17

In the first 15 lap main event, Reed was involved in first turn melee that left him back in the pack. The Australian thrilled the Italian crowd, coming through the field to finish second. Reed won the final 15 lap race ahead of race one winner Justin Barcia, and was awarded the overall victory based on the two moto performance, with the better second moto being the determining factor.

Original Storz XR883 for Sale

by Paul Crowe - "The Kneeslider" on 12/3/2011

in Motorcycle Builders

Storz XR 883

Storz XR 883

We've all seen Sportsters for sale with assorted Storz street tracker parts added on and they're usually pretty nice bikes, but this one is definitely different. This is a 1995 Sportster 883 Storz bought new, way back when, to use as a showcase for all of the pieces he had in the catalog. It had the pampered life of a celebrity, it spent a couple of years at motorcycle shows looking good for the crowds, then it was in photo shoots to highlight the Storz catalog items. Eventually it was sold to a restaurant owner who displayed it on a stand for 9 years. When the restaurant closed, the owner put it in storage.

Recently, our friend Richard Pollock of Mule Motorcycles, was looking for a Sportster as a donor bike for an upcoming project when he found this one for sale. The bike had just 501 miles on it and the owner wasn't going to give away a bike this special, but they came to an agreement and Mule carted it home.

He was all set to pull all of the pieces for use in some other builds, but when he started to clean it up he realized this was already a beautiful finished street tracker. It has a new battery, horn, turn signals and tires, and after cleaning the HS42 Mikuni carb, it fired right up and runs like new, because it is.

If you ever wanted to have a Storz street tracker without all of the work of first buying and swapping out all of those parts, this is probably one of the nicest you'll find.

2012 AMA Supercross Series in January, but for now, Anaheim II 2011!

Yes, it's another flashback on this past AMA Supercross season. This time - Round 5, which is called "Anaheim 2". It was a battle royale between ... well .... you'll just have to read the rest, and check out the photos!

James Stewart wins 20 lap Anaheim 2 Supercross Main Event. Josh Hansen wins 15 lap 250 West Regional Main Event. Round five 2011 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series, an FIM World Championship, at Angel Stadium in Anaheim!

Angel Stadium

A beautiful day in southern California, as round 5 of the 2011 AMA Supercross Series come to Anaheim for the final time this year. It's a pink-themed breast cancer awareness event as well.

There is a tangible excitement and buzz in the air for this event, starting early in the day. The event was announced as a sell out early on, not one ticket to be had anywhere. As mentioned in a previous article on Supercross.com this week - the sport of Supercross seems recession proof. The racing hasn't even started yet and this place is off the hook.

As the lights go out the opening ceremonies begin with music, lights, lasers, fireworks and more.

Gate drops for the first race of the night - the 250 West Regional Heat 1. It's Kyle Cunningham number 35 on his Yamaha in the lead. He's being chased by number 19 Eli Tomac. A ways back is Ryan Morais, and Ryan Marmont. This will be a six lap heat race. The top riders are running approx. 1 minute lap times.

At the finish of this heat, it's Kyle Cunningham winning, Eli Tomac is second, Cole Seely third, Ryan Morias fourth, and Ryan Marmont is fifth.
